The market scale of global intelligent manufacturing industry is estimated to reach 250 billion U.S. dollars in 2018, according to a forecast made by Topology Research Institute on Wednesday.
Intelligent manufacturing is likely to guide the transformation of traditional manufacturing on the promotion of policy privilege and advanced technology.
Liu Gengrui, an analyst with Topology, noted that three trends were likely to emerge in intelligent manufacturing industry.
Firstly, intelligent manufacturing may become service-oriented, customized and flexible. Various kinds of value-added service with product as the core are vital in the transformation of manufacturing industry.
Secondly, countries and manufacturers will compete for formulating technological standards. The one who has the right to formulate technological standards is likely to become the market leader in the future.
Thirdly, intelligent management construction is expected to lead the innovation of the whole industry, according to Liu.
