WEARABLE DEVICE FOR TUMOR TREATMENT
Researchers have developed a transparent wearable hyperthermia patch (HTP) for subcutaneous tumor treatment.
The soft and skin-mountable HTP has unusual optical and electrical characteristics based on a unidirectional silver nanofibers network with a low-voltage operation and uniform heating even under mechanical deformation.
The patch, designed by the researchers from Lanzhou University, presents high electrical conductivity and highly optical transparency simultaneously, thus allowing real-time inspection of the subcutaneous tumor treatment and skin response during the treatment.
RENEWABLE ENERGY
Over the past decade, China's renewable energy has made remarkable progress. From keeping pace with other countries to leading the world, China's renewable energy has promoted the country's green development and made major contributions to the global fight against climate change.
At the end of 2021, the cumulative installed power generation capacity of renewable energy reached 1,060 gigawatts, accounting for 44.8 percent of China's total installed power capacity, according to a statement issued by China's National Energy Administration.
HUMAN MIDDLE EAR
A new study conducted by scientists from China, Sweden, and the United Kingdom reveals that the human middle ear evolved from fish gills.
The discovery explains why human ears and mouths are connected, thanks to an ancient breathing passage passing from a fish's mouth through the gill.
