The U.S. dollar changed hands in the lower 109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Friday, marginally higher than its levels in New York overnight.
As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 109.34-35 yen compared with 109.19-29 yen in New York and 109.61-63 yen at 5 p.m. on Thursday in Tokyo.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1721-1723 dollars and 128.15-17 yen against 1.1716-1726 dollars and 128.00-10 yen in New York and 1.1722-1723 dollars and 128.49-53 yen in late Thursday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
