The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Monday, marginally higher than its levels late last week in New York.
As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 109.62-63 yen compared with 109.30-40 yen in New York and 109.36-38 yen at 5 p.m. on Friday in Tokyo.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1688-1689 dollars and 128.13-14 yen against 1.1647-1657 dollars and 127.44-54 yen in New York and 1.1688-1689 dollars and 127.82-86 yen in late Friday afternoon in Tokyo.
