China's Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses both opened tad higher on Monday.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.14 percent higher at 3,529.81. The Shenzhen Composite Index opened 0.17 percent higher at 2,237.12. The SME Price Index for small firms was up 0.09 percent to open at 8,242.27, and the ChiNext Index opened 0.27 percent higher at 2,699.34.
Stocks of nonferrous metals, tourism, public transport, environmental protection, telecom operation, machinery, insurance, shipbuilding and telecom equipment sectors led the gainers at the opening while those in securities brokerage, household goods, agricultural, iron and steel and petroleum sectors led the losers.
