Share prices on the Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses opened higher on Thursday. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.46 percent higher at 3,827.69. The Shenzhen Composite Index opened 0.64 percent higher at 2,018.50.
The SME Price Index for small firms was up 0.87 percent to open at 8,304.58 and the ChiNext Index opened 1.24 percent higher at 2,434.76. All listed sectors except for telecom operation and petroleum opened in the positive territory.
Stocks of internet, software services, engineering machinery, securities dealers, logistics, environmental protection, nonferrous metals, and medical treatment sectors led the gainers at Thursday's opening.
