TOKYO, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed higher Tuesday, as the market inherited a positive lead from Wall Street's rebound overnight with upbeat economic data from China and the United States helping to ease fears over the global recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 293.10 points, or 1.33 percent, from Monday to close the day at 22,288.14.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 9.55 points, or 0.62 percent, to finish at 1,558.77.

Iron and steel, air transportation and real estate issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play.
