TOKYO, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed higher Thursday following Wall Street's rise overnight.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average climbed 410.05 points, or 1.73 percent, from Wednesday to close the day at 24,105.28, marking its highest closing level since Oct. 3, 2018.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 22.69 points, or 1.39 percent, higher at 1,649.94.
Pharmaceutical, precision instrument and information and communication issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play.
