S. Korean stocks open higher

SEOUL, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- South Korean stocks opened higher on Friday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 23.51 points, or 0.87 percent, to trade at 2,719.73 in the first 15 minutes of trading.

The local currency was quoted at 1,092.3 won versus the U.S. dollar, up 4.7 won from the previous close.
