China's industry and Internet regulator - the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has posted a new catalogue of new energy vehicles recommended for wider-scale application.
The catalogue contains 247 models of new energy vehicles manufactured by over 20 auto makers including Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd., BAIC Motor Corporation Ltd., Hebei Changan Automobile Co., Ltd., Rongcheng Huatai Automobile Co., Ltd., Huachen Group Auto Holding Co., Ltd., and BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. For pure electric sedans, over ten auto brands such as BAIC, Huatai, Zhonghua, Geely, Meiri, JAC, Lifan, Changan, BYD, Chery, and Roewe entered the catalogue. For plug-in hybrid passenger cars, related autos of BYD, Roewe and Trumpchi were listed on the catalogue. Pure electric passenger cars of Foton, Maxus, Ankai, Yutong, Higer, King Long, and Hengtong were also selected into the catalogue.
Upon debut of the new catalogue, the past catalogue of the kind has been abolished, effective since January 1, 2016. Besides, MIIT publicized its list of the 280th batch of approved automobile, motorcycle, three wheeled vehicle and freight car products and producers.
