China became an associate member of International Energy Agency (IEA) at a recent minister-level meeting by the latter, said a release by the NEA on Thursday.
Both sides would step up cooperation on energy security, energy data and statistics as well as energy policy analysis, said the NEA. China has become a partner country of the IEA earlier this year.
