China's basic telecom operator China Telecom (CHA.NYSE; 007282.HK) announced on Wednesday its mobile subscribers reached 194.34 million by the end of September this year, up 7.03 percent year on year.
In September, the company's mobile subscribers increased about 1.18 million, as against an increase of 1.01 million in the year-earlier period.
China Telecom said its 3G and 4G subscribers grew 2.1 million in September and 18.18 million in the first three quarters to 136.81 million in total.
By end-Sept., the company had about 43.73 million 4G terminal users, with a net addition of about 36.65 million in the first three quarters of 2015.
In the fixed-line telecom business sector, China Telecom added 580,000 wireline broadband subscribers in September, which brought the total to 111.09 million. Its subscribers of local access lines in services, including wireless local access lines, dropped 740,000 in the month, to 136.89 million in total.
