China's stock exchanges in Shanghai and Shenzhen opened mixed on Thursday.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.12 percent higher at 4,058.62. The Shenzhen Composite Index opened 0.53 percent lower at 2,333.66. The SME Price Index for small firms was down 0.16 percent to open at 8,865.25 and the ChiNext Index opened 0.11 percent lower at 2,772.61.
Stocks of securities dealers, banking, insurance, public transport, natural gas, and transport facilities sectors led the gainers at Thursday's opening, while, the leading losers were in petroleum, internet, hotels, medical treatment, paper-making, mineral products, software services, telecom equipment, and tourism sectors.
