Share prices on China's Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses corrected in narrow ranges and closed mixed on Tuesday.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index maintained buoyancy to break 3,200 points at the intra-day performance. For the whole day, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index increased 0.92 percent to end at 3,185.62 points. The Shenzhen Composite Index went up 0.71 percent to end at 1,750.91. The SME Index for small firms soared 1.10 percent to end at 6,941.16 and the ChiNext Index edged down 0.02 percent to close at 2,078.72. Combined turnover of the two bourses expanded to 672.6 billion yuan from 573.2 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Stocks of securities dealers, public transport, insurance, logistics, coal, steel, petroleum, shipbuilding, liquor-making, and property sectors led the gainers on Tuesday, while, transport equipment, hotels, tourism, telecom operation, environmental protection, and mineral products sectors were relatively weak.
On the stock index futures market, the IF October contract increased 0.71 percent to end at 3,232.8, keeping a discount of 106.23 points to the underlying Hushen 300 Index, which added 0.93 percent to close at 3,339.03. The SSE 50 October contract rose 0.88 percent to end at 2,194.2, keeping a discount of 43.11 points to the underlying SSE 50 Index, which surged 1.03 percent to close at 2,237.31. The CSI October contract edged up 0.01 percent to end at 6,077.8, keeping a discount of 218.13 points to the underlying CSI 500 stock index, which increased 0.73 percent to end at 6,295.93.
