TOKYO, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed lower Friday giving up gains made in early trade on the yen's softer tone versus the U.S. dollar, as the market mood turned wary about the outlook for a key trade deal between two major economies.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 115.23 points, or 0.49 percent, from Thursday to close the day at 23,293.91.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 8.70 points, or 0.51 percent, to finish at 1,699.36.

Glass and ceramic product, transportation equipment and metal product-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the close of play.
