S. Korean stocks open higher

SEOUL, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- South Korean stocks opened higher on Wednesday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 25.94 points, or 0.83 percent, to trade at 3,166.25 as of 10:15 a.m. local time.

The local currency was quoted at 1,102.5 won versus the U.S. dollar, up 4.0 won from the previous close.
