TOKYO, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened marginally lower Wednesday as investor sentiment was dented by rising bond yields, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average lower overnight and snapping a seven-day winning streak.

As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 45.23 points, or 0.15 percent, from Tuesday to 29,875.86.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, was down 4.58 points, or 0.23 percent, at 1,976.92.

Air transportation, rubber product and mining-linked issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
