S.Korean stocks open lower

SEOUL, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- South Korean stocks opened lower Wednesday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) dipped 45.68 points, or 1.44 percent, to trade at 3,117.57 as of 10:20 a.m. local time.

The local currency was quoted at 1,109.7 won versus the U.S. dollar, down 9.6 won from the previous close.
